"The eCB system represents a microcosm of pycho-neuroimmunology or mind-body." [Bridgeman, M. PharmD, Abazia, D. MD] eCB's or Endocannabinoids [and their receptors] are found throughout the nervous system, internal organs, connective tissues, immune cells and all throughout the body.
[CB1] Cannabinoid receptor type 1: relates to the central nervous system; areas such as the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, and more; whereas [CB2] Cannabinoid receptor type 2: relates to the cells controlling immune function.
Unlike THC [the psychoactive component of Cannabis] which causes the sensation of getting high, CBD is non-psychoactive and produces pharmaceutical effects & benefits without exerting to much activity on the CB1 & CB2 receptors in our body.
